Andy Bassadone - The man behind restaurant chains Strada and Cote

Name: Andy Bassadone Nationality: British Companies run: Signature Restaurants (incorporating Strada, The Ivy, Le Caprice, Belgo, J Sheekey, Daphne's), Cote Restaurants When you’ve got a track record like Andy Bassadone, the likes of fashion and restaurant tycoon Richard Caring, want to deal with you. The owner of exclusive eateries The Ivy, Le Caprice, Annabel’s and Soho House, among many other slabs of prime real estate, had worked with Bassadone the chief executive. Bassadone’s career in the industry is stuff of envy. 30 years in the industry, starting from the bottom up. Bassadone took the role of stewarding Signature Restaurants’ brands, The Ivy, Le Caprice, Belgo, Daphne’s and J Sheekey for investor and Channel 4 chairman Luke Johnson. Strada itself grew to 26 restaurants before it was sold to Richard Caring for £56m. More than 20 additional Strada outlets opened before it, along with a handful of other restaurants under its umbrella, was sold to Tragus, which owns Café Rouge, for £140m. This gave Bassadone the opportunity to concoct a new recipe for success with his trusted partner Chris Benians. Cote’s first restaurant opened in 2007 in Wimbledon Village. Sites in Richmond, Soho, Kensington, and Covent Garden have followed, with more openings slated. Bassadone, as an entrepreneur in his own right, is one to watch
