Keith Potts - Sold Jobsite.co.uk to media giant DMGT for £35m in 2004
Name: Keith Potts Nationality: British Companies Run: Jobsite.co.uk, Pinnacle Internet Systems Keith Potts is the man behind veteran internet company Jobsite.co.uk – now one of the UK’s leading online recruitment websites. After growing up in Zambia (where he purchased a new project with his brothers - Norman Carr Safaris in 2003), working as a software engineer in the defence industry developing software for flight simulators, Potts set up his own company, Pinnacle Internet Services in 1995. In the same year, Potts, along with family members Graham, Karen and Eric and angel investor Nick Lutte, set up Jobsite.co.uk, the UK’s first multi-sector online recruitment site, with its pioneering Jobs-By-Email service. In 2000, the company received investment from Manpower Inc, while 2001 saw a number of accolades, including being the first UK recruitment website to have over a million visitors in a month, and international expansion. After surviving the bursting dotcom bubble, 2004 saw Jobsite bought up by Associated New Media (a division of the Daily Mail General Trust) for an impressive £35m. By 2008, and following numerous acquisitions, such as CityJobs and ProductionBase, the company featured over 200 sites across a range of sectors. Jobsite also became the official online recruitment partner for the Evening Standard, London Metro, and London Lite, and oversaw the UK's largest ever recruitment advertising drive, with a media spend of £15m.
